The opening hours of stores and shopping centers continue to be extended. However, there are events that cannot be missed, and Christmas is one of them.
The December 25 falls on a Wednesday. Update on what will or will not be open in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes).
Total closures
Who says public holiday says non-working day, that is to say not working. By extension, many businesses will be closed this Wednesday.
The shopping centers in Nice will almost all close. Avenue Jean-Médecin, Nicetoile will be closed. It will reopen on Thursday at its usual hours, that is to say between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The doors of Galeries Lafayette will also remain closed, and will not reopen until 10 a.m. on the 26th.
Or partial
Some shopping centers will be closed, but only partially. In TNL, Boulevard Delfino, Carrefour and many shops will be closed. Some businesses, particularly food businesses, will continue their service: this is the case with McDonald's and Café Delfino.
The same goes for Lingostière, Nice Valley and Iconic. On the outskirts, Shopping Promenade Riviera (formerly Polygone Riviera) will be open in Cagnes-sur-Mer. This will not be the case for Cap3000, in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
What about supermarkets and hypermarkets?
In the city center, the Monoprix on rue Biscarra remains open. Same thing for that of Iconic, mentioned above. In the neighborhoods, again, you will have to be wary.
It is therefore better to find out in advance to be sure not to travel for nothing.
