As 2024 draws to a close, it is time to look back on a season rich in emotions for LOSC, now under the leadership of Bruno Genesio. This year marked a turning point for the Mastiffs, both collectively and individually. Through several categories, we highlight the players, moments and performances that marked this great year 2024. The one discussed in this article is the title of the hope of the year.
The Dogues Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the performances and highlights that marked the year 2024 at LOSC. From December 25 to December 31, supporters will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites in different categories, such as “Dog of the Year”, “Revelation of the Year” or “Goal of the Year”. Each fan can vote once per category, meaning every vote counts towards the most memorable players, matches and performances. The results of the votes will be revealed on January 1, 2025, to start the new year off right by paying tribute to those who marked the previous one.
The “hopeful of the year” prize rewards promising young talents from LOSC who have demonstrated exceptional potential in 2024, whether in the U19 or reserve team. These players embody the future of the club and have shown impressive development throughout the season.
The Lille youth team shone this year with Soriba Diaoune, spearhead of the U17 vice-champion Lille team and qualified for the round of 32 of the Youth League, Ramsès Imbondo, also present in these two teams and whose performances earned him a first professional contract, Younès Lachaab, top scorer in the reserve over the year and who is knocking on the door of the professional group, or even Samy Merzouk, impressive with his agility in Lille goals and quarter-finalist with the U19 group last season. But only one will be elected hope of the year 2024.
