Divided into two distinct areas – a meadow of 245 square meters and a stabilized part of 130 square meters – the park also offers an agility course consisting of a footbridge and a swing. Fountains, benches, and canopy dispensers facilitate the management of droppings, thus reinforcing the cleanliness of public spaces.

During the inauguration, David Lisnardmayor of Cannes, recalled the importance of this project as part of the municipal policy initiated since 2014 for the protection of animals. “The place of the animal in our lives, and therefore in the city, is fundamental. Firstly, because it is a reason for individual fulfillment and social interaction. We see this very well, for example, with the elderly , isolated, dependent or sick during equine therapy sessions organized with the Municipal Police in nursing homes Then, because there may be difficulties and conflicts of use, therefore the need to adopt civic behavior in the nursing homes. public space. why I wanted to create, in 2017, a municipal delegation dedicated to the animal cause” he said.

Modern and adapted equipment

The park is fenced over 145 meters (height 1.20 m) and offers complete facilities: a fountain, a garden hose, three public benches and nine ornamental trees.

Completed in six weeks for a total amount of 69,910 euros including tax, the park did not eliminate any parking spaces and fits perfectly into the heart of the city.

With this initiative, Cannes City Hall affirms its lasting commitment to better integration of animals into urban space, thus contributing to improving the quality of life of Cannes residents and their four-legged companions.
