The scene took place in a ten-story building located Bellefontaine districthas Toulouseon the evening of Monday December 23, 2024.

Fifteen firefighters mobilized

Firefighters were alerted shortly after 8 p.m. when four people were trapped in the building's elevator, between the second and third floor.

Around fifteen firefighters attended the scene. A specialized team of firefighters in dangerous and mountain environments (SPMP) was mobilized. These firefighters are specially trained to intervene in all environments where the traditional means of firefighters are unsuitable or present dangers in terms of height or depth for example.

The only ones capable of intervening

Given the location where the elevator got stuck and its configuration, the intervention of these specialized firefighterswhich often operate in mountainous environments, was deemed necessary. The SPMP men began by reconnaissance of the elevator shaft before setting up a lifting device to evacuate people trapped on the fifth floor of the building.

The occupants of the elevator are all escaped unharmed.
