The TER Normandy (Nomad) departing from Rouen at 3:11 p.m. to Paris Saint-Lazare at 4:48 p.m. had been withdrawn from service since 2022. It now marks the stop at the station Mantes-la-Jolie at 4:12 p.m.
IDFM (Île-de-France Mobilités) welcomed this gesture from the Normandy region towards the users of Mantois. The Ile-de-France operator finances this additional stop to the tune of 2.2 million euros per year. For its part, Normandy is committed to deploying new Regio 2N trainsmore comfortable on the line.
IDFM anticipates the complete extension of the RER E
The complete extension of RER E to the east towards Mantes-la-Jolie must be finalized by 2027 – and in 2029 at full capacity. It will constitute a “revolution” for the residents concerned, according to Valérie Pécresse. Also, “IDFM anticipates and has asked Normandy to guarantee that TER coming from and going to this Region can serve Mantois during peak hours”.
According to IDFM, this station service remains essential to ensure passenger transport, while attendance is growing. The operator already has 8.9 million passengers in 2023, compared to nearly 7 million in 2021. Without this service, IDFM estimates that transport could not be ensured and that the entire railway axis would be impacted (namely the lines J and N operated by Transilien SNCF Voyageurs).
