A (too) long wait
Barely hours after the events, the family hoped to be able to mourn. But it was nothing of the sort. It was just the beginning of a long wait.
More than a week later the accidentThomas' father shared on social networks his emotion for still not having been able to recover the body of his own son.
In a few hours, the cry of pain of this father from Aude went far beyond the borders of Narbonne.
A call to mobilization
The Facebook post quickly went viral. At the beginning of the afternoon, Monday December 23, it had been shared more than 2000 times and commented by almost 150 people.
It ended with a call for the mobilization of Narbonnais and Audois affected by the tragedy experienced by this family and faced with the impossibility of being able to recover the body of the deceased young man.
This online call was widely heard. According to our colleagues at the Independent, more than 300 Audois wished support the family by gathering on the square in front of the courthouse in Narbonne (hears).
“The body will be returned this Monday”
Requested by Actu.fr, Eric Camouspublic prosecutor of Narbonne (Aude), confirmed “having received the family and understanding their pain”. The meeting lasted almost one hour.
“The order for the return of the body was signed by the investigating judge. This must now take place during the day, this Monday, December 23», concludes the Aude magistrate.
