Monday, December 23 at 12 p.m., on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville. Sophie Joissains, mayor of Aix-en-Provence and the Municipal Council invite the people of Aix to this tribute in order to show support for the families of the victims and the entire population of Mayotte affected by this tragedy.
In Istres
« We all share the pain of the Mahorais »said the head of state. « Our flags will be at half-mast. All French people will be invited to worship at 11 a.m. ». In order to respond to this decision by the President of the Republic, François Bernardini, mayor of Istres, invites the population to meet on the square in front of the Town Hall, Monday at 11 a.m., to pay tribute to the victims of this disaster.
During its meeting on Wednesday, December 18, the municipal council unanimously voted for aid of €10,000 in support of the devastated French department and its inhabitants.
As a reminder, the Istres Air Base is also mobilized. Relief and rescue equipment left BA125 on Thursday.
In Port-de-Bouc
Considering the grief national decreed for the day of December 23, after the disaster suffered by Mayotte, a moment of contemplation will also be organized at 11 a.m. in the courtyard of the Town Hall of the town of Port-de-Bouc, in order to honor the memory of the victims of Cyclone Chido.

The city of Arles joins in the national day of mourning decreed by the President of the Republic, in tribute to the victims of Cyclone Chido, which struck Mayotte on December 14. A moment of contemplation is organized this Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11 a.m., on the square in front of the Town Hall, Place de la République, where all Arlesians are invited to join.
The city of Arles also announces that due to the national day of mourning, the Group F fireworks display and parade scheduled for that day have been postponed to Saturday, December 28.
