It therefore ends 78-79 for Bayern, who are moving higher and higher in the standings (11-7); 9-8 for Milan which remains in play-in limbo.

Mid-range stop by Shields who unscrews himself, tries a half-hook, but misses. Bayern wins, at the last shot, with a mocking turn of iron.

78-79 1/2 Weiler-Babb.

The review comes to the table now, to check who should shoot to the line, but it is clearly Weiler-Babb.

68-67 Very quick reply from Weiler-Babb, 5'50” to go.

68-65 ARMONI BROOKS WITH THE TRIPLE FOR +3 MILAN!

65-65 NEBO! Voigtmann sweeps it away but they are two valid ones because the ball was on the rim.

Fourth foul by Mirotic who loses Voigtmann, 7'20” to go.

After the third foul (in attack) by Mirotic comes the timeout on the pitch. Foul in attack which, however, leaves him with some doubts.

63-65 Stop and shot by Mirotic, 18 for him!

The throw-in was awarded to Milan, and not the free throws to Mirotic.

However, there is a challenge from Herbert: according to him (and Yebo) the foul came first.

Mirotic tries to go towards the basket against Yebo, earns a foul and two free throws at -8'23”.

61-65 Mirotic with the correction to the basket after LeDay's error!

The last quarter begins.

The third quarter begins.

10.01pm A few moments into the third quarter.

9.58pm One of Booker's numbers from the first quarter.

9.55pm Let's remember that the Euroleague, in fact, never stops: there will be basketball to watch even during Christmas, with matches on the 26th and 27th (Milan on the 26th, Virtus Bologna on the 27th).

9.52pm An Olimpia with two faces so far: the first up to 6-24, with a slow and often difficult pace even in defence, the second with a much better attitude and with the LeDay-Mirotic pairing to infuse adequate energy.

TOP SCORER – MILANO: LeDay 10; BAYERN: Booker 10

Bayern missed several shots at the siren, a second quarter ended 39-40 which definitely put things back in balance.

24-29 STILL CAUSEUR! Showtime for three! 7'30” until halftime.

21-29 Very prompt response from Obst.

21-26 CAUSEUR! And from 6-24 came a run of 15-2!

18-26 Dimitrijevic! Great basket off the dribble and there's a timeout now for Bayern.

16-26 2/2 LeDay.

LeDay attacks Bitim, gets the foul and the two incoming free throws.

The second quarter begins.

TOP SCORER – MILANO: LeDay 8; BAYERN: Booker 8

14-26 Triple by LeDay, tries to get a shock in Milan.

6-16 Another not very beautiful defense from Milan, Weiler-Babb for Voigtmann and +10 Bayern.

6-14 Bayern is a spectacle right now, Booker's dunk arrives, Milan timeout.

8.58pm Before the start, the two great former players of the day, Johannes Voigtmann and Shabazz Napier, who both left recent and excellent memories at EA7, are welcomed back. Now the actual presentation of Milan, there will be a few extra moments needed for the ball.

8.55pm The presentation of the two teams is underway.

8.52pm Final stages before the presentation of the two teams.

8.49pm We cannot help but point out what happened yesterday, with the terrible injury that occurred to Mathias Lessor during Panathinaikos-Baskonia. Broken fibula for the Frenchman, operation successful today and four months out for him due to one of the scariest injuries in recent times in the Euroleague.

8.46pm Of the matches taking place today, one has already concluded, with Anadolu Efes able to beat Partizan 86-77 thanks to Ercan Osmani's 25 points.

8.43pm Tonight's special evening, and not only because it closely recalls the playoffs of three years ago, but also because it is precisely a piece of the postseason that is being built (also) today, even if we are still quite far from the key dates .

8.40pm Good evening everyone, and here we are again for the end of the first round of Olimpia Milano and Bayern Munich.

Good evening to all OA Sport readers, and welcome to the LIVE LIVE of match of the 17th round of the Euroleague 2024-2025 between Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano and Bayern Munich. To close the first round there is a challenge with particularly important recent history.

In fact, any Olimpia fan can well remember what happened three years ago: in times of Covid, with the Forum closed to the public, Milan played the quarter-final series against the Bavarians which could have been worth the Final Four for the first time after 29 years. A series with an uncertain, almost dramatic outcome, but which ultimately won for Olimpia in game 5. And then, in the Final Four, the Milanese club came within nothing short of an incredible final.

For the moment at Bayern level the only certain absence is that of Vladimir Lucic, expected to return in January, while it is not clear what has become of Oscar da Silva. What needs to be understood is the availability of all the players, for which Messina, as we will see, has opened up some opportunities. The two best attacks in the Euroleague are facing each other, but for EA7 the task is complicated by the fact that Bayern at home, in Europe, has not yet lost.

As Ettore Messina on the eve from the company website: “We had one more day than usual to recover energy and understand if Leandro Bolmaro and Josh Nebo can help us in this match against Bayern. We were very happy after the victory in Barcelona and obviously we are not happy with what happened in Athens. But this is a very long and complex season, so we only have to look at this match in which we will face a team that has an excellent attack, balanced and well organized by Coach Herbert. We are also happy to see two special players again, Shabazz Napier and Johannes Voigtmann, who were the protagonists of two championships with us.”.

The tie between Olimpia Milano and Bayern Munich will be raised at 9pm. Have fun with OA Sport's LIVE LIVE!
