Narbonne: Covering 116 million euros, the municipal budget was adopted without surprise by the council

The initial budget of 116 million euros was approved during the meeting on Thursday, December 19.

Following the resignation of municipal councilor Patrick François, the municipal council on Thursday December 19 installed Mohamed Mazouni, neither Georges Abbamonte nor Laure Munier having wished to sit. Philippe Cazal leaves the opposition group en Commun to find the Narbonnais Citizen Movement, and thus forms a new group of two advisors with Mohamed Mazouni.

This council was interrupted by the alarm from the Archbishops’ Palace, which led to the evacuation of the room for around fifteen minutes.

Although it did not give rise to lively discussions, it made it possible, unsurprisingly, to ratify the initial budget, in line with the budgetary orientation debate, of 116 million euros, divided between 83 million, or nearly 70% operating and 33 million, or around 30% investment.

The amount of equipment expenditure is €23.7 million. The 2025 budget thus devotes €2.6 billion to the development of the banks of the Robine, €860,000 to that of the beach crossroads, or even €825,000 to that of a leisure center in Montplaisir. The work to revegetate the nursery grounds will require €250,000 and the planned extension of the Max Dormoy nursery €300,000. “Good news for the taxpayerunderlined Bertrand Malquier, the mayor, we are going to freeze property taxes at 1.7% for 2025″, tax rates will not increase next year.
