Pierre Bergeron, coach of Briançon who will face Grenoble: “If destiny wants us to win the Coupe de France, it is better to take Grenoble at home than to play them at the Accor Arena. Grenoble has already won twice at Bercy and has a lot of experience of these special moments. So I prefer to play them at home where we are also sure to have the last change. We know it’s going to be a very tough fight but, on our ice, pushed by our public, that gives us more of a chance. We will play hard. All the players are very excited and we will have everything to gain. It will be an exhilarating moment. It’s up to us to make it historic. »
Jean-François Dufour (general manager of Grenoble) : “When you look at the four teams in the final four, you can’t lie to yourself: on paper, Briançon is not at the same level as the others. There is a difference in level, with Angers and Rouen. On the sporting side, it’s a good draw; and on the travel side too, it saves us another long trip. Now we know Briançon. When we go there, we’re always hooked. There is a good team and a good team, it always makes for difficult matches. But we have a sufficiently experienced group, who know that we must not take this type of match lightly. »
