A new address to try soon in Rouen (Seine-Maritime)! By the end of 2024, a new bar, Musewill open its doors in the heart of the antiques district. We present it to you exclusively.

From physiotherapist to bartender

At 29, Hugo Martins realizes a dream by taking over the old Rose and Maxin the impasse des Hauts Mariages. A physiotherapist by training, he had “always wanted to work in a bar”.

It must be said that he often worked in the industry, before and during his studies, particularly in Brazil.

To drink and eat

With Muse, he wants to focus on “simplicity”. No extended drinks menu. “We will find classics, whether for cocktails, wines or beer, but with selected and Norman products as much as possible,” he explains.

We can also snackagain with fairly simple things, “boards to share and tapas. There will only be homemade, hot, cold, vegetarian…”. And there too by focusing as much as possible on local.

Muse will also want to be “accessible”. First of all, for PRMs since all the arrangements have been made for this. But also and above all to everyone. According to Hugo, “we will inevitably find something we like. There are three different rooms [dont une belle cave en pierre] each with their own atmosphere.

Three rooms, three atmospheres

The main room, large, will allow you to find the festive atmosphere, around the counter where you will come to help yourself. The neighboring room, more intimate, will provide a calmer atmosphere. The basement, which can be privatized, will promise good moments of conviviality.

Accessibility will also pass by prices. “No more than 9 euros for a cocktail, pints for less than 8 euros, boards between 10 and 12 euros…” All with 94 seats inside and around 40 on the terrace.

“I really want to offer a different service, encourage sitting at the counter to highlight the work of the team,” insists Hugo. “It’s really an environment in which I enjoy working and I created the offer I wanted. »

This “unique place in its own right” is due to open its doors before Christmas. It will be open seven days a week, from 5 p.m.
