The inauguration was held in the presence of Hervé Morin, President of the Normandy Region, Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and President of the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community and Alban Bruneau, Mayor of Gonfreville-l’Orcher. The Biosynergy unit has an annual recovery capacity of 90,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste, waste wood and solid recovered fuels (SRF). It will generate 300,000 MWh of thermal energy in the form of water vapor each year. This will be intended to supply the urban heating network of Le Havre as well as local industries. This installation will contribute to the decarbonization of the territory and the reduction of waste landfilling. Furthermore, the boilers of this energy recovery unit are powered by CSR produced locally at the Trinergy de Suez site, based in Rogerville.
A budget of 85 million euros was allocated to carry out this project. This was financed by Suez and Vauban Infrastructure Partners, via its PTP Impact Local fund, and supported by grants from Ademe and the Normandy region. “Vauban Infrastructure Partners is proud to support, alongside SUEZ and all local and regional public partners, a circular economy model like that of BIOSYNERGY, the engine of the regional energy transition. This project illustrates the essential contribution of the private sector to these major issues, via lasting partnerships with all stakeholders. “, underlines Mounir Corm.
