A true entrepreneurial saga since 1858 for the construction of this Pau-Canfranc railway line, braving geographical and technological difficulties, and overcoming doubts or political obstructions and the historical context which today leaves remarkable works of art: the helical tunnel , the Arnousse viaduct with spectacular heights for the time, the Abel forges station, the Canfranc international station… and which constitutes a true epic human. In fact, more than 2,000 workers before the First World War, nearly 70% of whom were of Aragonese origin, contributed to this technical feat.
