Dakar, Dec 18 (APS) – Three candidates are in the running to succeed Mbagnick Ndiaye at the head of the Senegalese Fencing Federation (FSE), we learned from the governing body of this discipline.
Cécile Faye, permanent secretary of the Senegalese Fencing Federation, Mbagnick Sène of “Lions Club” and Alioune Thiam of “Grand-Dakar Club” are the three candidates in the running, indicates a press release sent to the APS.
The elective general assembly of the Senegalese Fencing Federation is scheduled for Friday, at its head office 3, rue Amadou Assane Ndoye X Bérenger Ferrand.
It will take place under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and in the presence of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSS), reports the same source.
After several mandates at the head of the FSE, the former Minister of Sports, Mbagnick Ndiaye, decided not to run for a new mandate
He said he wanted to devote himself to his duties as president of the African Fencing Confederation.
The former Senegalese Minister of Sports was re-elected for a fifth term at the head of the African Fencing Confederation at the beginning of December, in Taschkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
Mr. Ndiaye was unanimously re-elected, during the elective congress of the African Fencing Confederation, by the 29 federations which took part in the event.
