Tried for acts of violence: the Laval court acquits the accused

On June 14, the president of the Femme Solidaires 53 association received a woman for a meeting, and noticed a bruise under her right eye. During the interview, the woman explains that she suffered violence from her partner, 39 years old, with whom she got back into a relationship since January. It states in particular: “Being hit with electric cables. »

False facts

The victim does not wish to file a complaint: the president of the association then contacts the police. The police carried out investigations and noted that the victim had reported several acts of violence in the past, notably from another of her spouses. The investigation concluded that the facts were false, and the complainant was indicted for slanderous denunciations.

Questions about denunciations

A psychological assessment of the victim was carried out, reporting a histrionic personality disorder, leading to difficulty discerning reality from imagination. The expert also expresses doubts as to the reality of the facts.

The prosecutor mentions “questions about the victim’s denunciations”and asks for release because “the elements are not sufficient to find the accused guilty”.

Tuesday, December 17, the court (in Mayenne) acquitted the defendant for all the facts with which he was accused.
