For the holiday season, Tourisme Laval launched an Advent calendar aimed at highlighting the activities offered in Laval.
The daily offer is sent every day to subscribers of the Tourisme Laval newsletter. It could be a free activity to do as a family or a 15% discount offered to try the activity offered by one of the participating partners.
“The objective is to increase the visibility of local attractions,” explains Christine Métayer. It’s the kind of initiative that doesn’t have too many flaws; we create opportunities for consumers and participating merchants offer themselves a great awareness campaign for their establishment.”
She also notes that this project promotes experiences rather than purchasing consumer products.
Unsurprisingly, several activities offered take place outside to take advantage of the winter. However, some of them take place indoors. For Ms. Métayer, this helps demonstrate that “Laval is not a destination associated with seasonality” and that it is possible to take advantage of the city’s attractions in all kinds of ways.
The initiative will also allow Tourisme Laval to collect data in order to better adjust its future campaigns.
The president and CEO of the regional tourism association invites interested citizens to register for the advent calendar via the Tourisme Laval website by December 24. In addition to the offers offered, a grand prize worth $500 will be awarded to one lucky person.
