The alert was triggered by the Eure-et-Loir departmental fire and rescue service this Wednesday December 18, 2024 shortly after 2 p.m.

The firefighters intervened at 38, rue du Grand Faubourg in Chartres after a report was made of a gas leak or a suspicious odor.

Fifteen firefighters on site


SDIS 28 sent around fifteen firefighters to the scene from the Chartres emergency center, also employing three machines for reconnaissance and identification of these odors.

The intervention ended around 4 p.m. after identification of the source behind the intervention, in this case a generator letting out fumes of exhaust gases.

Two people were injured, in relative emergency, two women aged 20 and 43 who were transported to the Chartres hospital center for additional examinations.

The premises were ventilated by natural ventilation and the toximetric readings carried out remained zero.
