Progress table respected, even surpassed… This Saturday, December 14, after a 2-2 draw against the Orléans reserve, C’Chartres Football turned the page on a very successful first part of the championship.
A remarkable record
Seven wins, three draws and just one defeat in eleven matches for a total of 24 points at the break. Returning to the national level a year after its fall in Regional 1, the CCF could hardly dream of better, even if it may regret having come through against Châtellerault (1-4), its only accident along the way. In the other groups, only two teams performed better: FC Rousset Sainte-Victoire (27 pts, group G) and Racing CF (26 pts, group J).
Claiming accession, Chartres confirmed its ambitions on the ground. “Who would have said before the start of the championship that we would be first at the break with a three-point lead? Person ! When we went to Romorantin (6th day), we were a point behind and everyone imagined that we were going to get in jail… But we won (1-2). The team has progressed. Now, we have to move up this year because we won’t have the chance to be in front like that every year,” confides Laurent Fournier.
A better ratio outside
Often heckled on its pitch at Jacques-Couvret where it conceded its only setback (2W, 2N, 1L), C’Chartres Football, on the other hand, reigned supreme outside its bases (5V, 1N, 0L). Nicolas Palbrois and his partners were thus satisfied with 8 points out of 15 possible at home (1.6 per match) when they won 16 out of 18 away (2.66 per match). Quite unusual stats.
