Saturday December 14, 2024, during the second division match between the local team of AL Saint-Ouen (ALSO) and that of AC Chambord, the athlete almost took second place. The municipal stadium, which never had a name strictly speaking, will now be called the Henri-Hamelin stadium, in homage to the founder, now deceased, of ALSO football and to its number one supporter.

A beautiful ceremony was organized in his honor in the presence of all the protagonists of the club, his loved ones very touched by this gesture, elected officials including Christophe Marion, deputy and Jeannine Vaillant, mayor.

“His love and dedication for the club”

For club president Dimitri Pidou, it seemed obvious: “A member of the ALSO since 1988, I knew Henri Hamelin very well. Given his career, his love and dedication for the club, it seemed natural to me to rename the stadium in his name. It is largely thanks to him that the club was able to see the light of day. He always came to encourage us even when he had retired. I would like to thank the town hall for following us in this project as well as the Hamelin family for coming for the inauguration and for kicking off our first team’s match. »

For the first match at the Henri-Hamelin stadium, the ALSO players did not spoil the party with a nice 2-0 victory.
