the essential
“Bag’Innov”, the creator of innovative packaging for liquids based in the Plaisance area of Narbonne, changed hands in 2021. Lionel Robert, its manager, has no shortage of ambitions to develop this small, up-and-coming company. He reveals his plans for the future.
Creator of lightweight and innovative packaging for transporting liquids, “Bag’Innov” was launched in 2009 by Nicolas Aiguille. The company then puts on the market flexible bags that stand upright and have a tap: “bags without the box”, customizable as desired, light to carry and produced using eco-responsible processes in the spirit of reducing costs. waste. Taken over in 2021 by Lionel Robert, a professional in the fruit juice sector, the company must now take on new challenges. During a visit by local economic players (Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Grand Narbonne, City), the business manager tells us more.
Navigate to new markets
With nine employees on board, “Bag’Innov” intends to move towards new markets and expand its ranks in the near future. Moreover, “the last two recruitments were carried out in July with the help of the CCI. In 2025, we plan to place a production operator on a permanent contract and to recruit an apprentice in e-commerce”, notes Lionel Robert. On the production side, the company has a heat-sealing workshop and the appropriate equipment for a maximum capacity of 5 million bags. However, in 2024, even if the bar recovers, “Bag’Innov” shows a drop in marketing: this year, 2.8 million bags left the Narbonne workshops, compared to 3.9 million in 2021.
French, eco-friendly and high-end pockets
This is why it is time to bounce back, notably with a “global innovation that no one is capable of proposing”, announces Lionel Robert. Namely “pockets without PET plastic and without aluminum, therefore recyclable. This is the result of three years of work and extensive development”. A technology that is the envy of the European market, which is increasingly sensitive to environmental protection. With this French, eco-friendly and high-end bag, “Bag’Innov” intends to attract new customers. Until then, the Narbonnaise company had a majority of clients in its portfolio in the wine and fruit juice sector. However, it could also attract professionals in oil, eggs, milk, detergents… and many other sectors. Always with “specific and adapted products, fully or partially customizable”.
