“Distinguish the commitment of the Eurelians.” The prefect of Eure-et-Loir, Hervé Jonathan, presented, in Republican Echothe citizen engagement competition, entitled Les Talents de l’engagement, the launch of which he announced on December 5, 2024, World Volunteer Day, during the evening of the 80th anniversary of the Rural Families federation of Eure-et-Loir.
The application file for the competition has just been posted online on the prefecture’s website. It must be returned before March 15, 2025.
“In a democracy, life is structured by public services, the State, communities, it is essential, but not sufficient. This must be supplemented by the commitment of citizens, which has been defined in particular by the law of 1901 on associations”, explained Hervé Jonathan.
The Talents of Commitment competition is organized by the prefecture, in partnership with the Departmental Council, the Agglo du Pays de Dreux, the Cities of Chartres, Châteaudun, Dreux, Nogent-le-Rotrou and Vernouillet, the Caisse d’ Family allowances and national education services. It “aims to distinguish engagement projects, and to encourage their implementation”.
Concretely, “from the age of 14, Euréliennes and Euréliens, residents or associative structures, alone or in groups, individually or accompanied, are invited to think about their commitment projects, to describe them, to budget for them”, details the prefecture, in a press release.
Applications must be sent, before March 15, 2025, to the email address: [email protected].
After examination, files will be pre-selected. The leaders of these projects will have five minutes to present them to a jury, as part of a “great evening of citizen engagement”. It will take place in June 2025.
“Each of the winners will receive a scholarship”
Four prizes will be awarded: the prize for commitment to bringing fraternity to life in the Republic; that of commitment to memory and remembrance; the price of commitment to protecting the planet and the environment, and that of daily commitment to social life.
The prefecture specifies that “each of the winners will receive a grant, of a maximum amount of €5,000, to finance the implementation of their project”.
