A bomb from the Second World War was cleared on Wednesday December 18, 2024 off the coast of Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Around ten clearance divers

The explosive device was discovered between the Solidor tower and the Rance estuary. Around ten clearance divers from the French Navy intervened today at dawn to neutralize it.

For security reasons, the municipalities of Saint-Malo, Dinard, La Richardais and Saint-Lunaire had issued decrees to prohibit access to the coastline.

The mine was towed four nautical miles (about 7 km) from the coast to be destroyed.
