From Wednesday December 18, and for three days, Antoine Devulder, doctor in Scaër, appeared before the Finistère Assize Court for the rape of his ex-wife. A trial which should initially have been held in March but which, following the accused’s illness the day before the hearing, was finally postponed until the fall. During the trial, his defense will be provided by Me Anne-Catherine Le Her, of the bar.

The doctor is not unknown to the justice system: in April 2023, the latter was sentenced to six months in prison by the court for habitual domestic violence committed between 2019 and 2020 on his partner, a sentence confirmed by the Court of Appeal, November 27, 2024. Facts subsequent to those denounced by his ex-wife. At the time, the doctor’s former companion had denounced the latter’s obsession with sex. “Every day”, before coming home from work, the fifty-year-old called her to ask her to consume alcohol and cannabis in order to “stimulate her libido”, the victim told the court. When she expressed her refusal, the situation degenerated into shouting, insults, shoving and violence. During the procedure, two ex-wives of the defendant, including the one who filed a complaint against him for rape, described the fifty-year-old as a “manipulative” man with a significant “sexual appetite”.
