The Christmas market closed its doors, but many others animations will continue to punctuate the end of year celebrations in . Thus, on December 18, the Caravelle space will host a show entitled “The magic gift” (accessible to children aged three). Two slots available (11 a.m. and 4 p.m.) with reservation required (price: six euros).

On December 20 (from 4:30 p.m.), Santa Claus will be present at the Saint-Exupéry school, then at the Louise Michel center. Photos, snacks and sweets will be offered. In the same spirit, a abseiling of Santa Claus and his prankster elves will take place on December 21 (6 p.m.) on Town Hall Square. It will be followed by a parade with its sleigh to Place Henri IV and a fireworks. This same day (11 a.m.), the Market Hall will offer the Christmas platter.

A funfair at Place Henri IV

Santa’s House (place Charles de Gaulle) will welcome young and old on December 21 and 22 (3 p.m.-7 p.m.). During this same weekend (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), a mini Christmas market will be installed at the La Verrière shopping center.

A funfair is also planned from December 21 to January 5 on Place Henri IV, while a “wonderful garden” is located in the heart of the Bossuet museum until January 8 with daily illumination.

On December 22 (5 p.m.), chants Gospel will resonate in front of the cathedral, while a DJ will perform on Place Darnetal from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Greeting cards to engrave

On December 24 (10 a.m.-10:30 a.m.), the heart of the city will be the scene of a Santa Claus wandering with distribution of candy. A night visit of the Bossuet museum will also be organized. In absolute silence, by the light of your lamp, you will follow the guide. Step by step, you will discover the places, its noises and its works. A sensory experience which will shake up your perceptions.

Finally, a linocut workshop (reserved for 7-12 year olds) will be held on January 3 (10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) at the Episcopal City, in front of the heritage workshop room. Accompanied by a mediator, these apprentice engravers will discover this technique. From the development to the printing of the design in the press, everyone will slip into the shoes of a printer to create an engraved greeting card. Reservations recommended on the Meaux Ourcq Tourisme website (price: five euros). Presence of an adult required.
