The reserve zone adopted by the authorities of Sainte-Croix for a period of five years will be extended by three years. With one UDC abstention, the entire deliberative body validated this request from the Municipality on Monday, December 9. Consequently, the freeze on construction on the municipal territory will be maintained until the end of 2027. Covid and various administrative works relating to the territory have led to the delay by the Municipality in the development of the new municipal allocation plan. This document must significantly resize the building areas, as a result of the Land Planning Law which came into force in 2018.
The new municipal plan must count on an authorized annual growth for 20 years of 1.7% in the center of the village (i.e. 954 more inhabitants in 2036 than in 2016) and 0.75% on the outskirts (+ 274 inhabitants in total ). Thirty years old, the current allocation plan authorized 2746 and 1713 respectively.
