Comedian Gerry Carter will be on stage. Entrance is free and free.
Robert Louis Stevenson's story, “Travel with a donkey in the Cévennes” comes to life on stage thanks to the work of actress and director Marion Combes who regularly runs singing and theater workshops at the Rives du Tarn. The show takes us through the adventures of the Scottish writer through the wild landscapes of the Cévennes in the company of his donkey who will teach him patience and many things about himself.
The staging highlights the significant encounters that mark the Scottish writer's journey. Each character encountered reveals the concerns of the inhabitants of the Cévennes before 1880, friendly innkeepers, peasants evoking the harshness of rural life, monks intrigued by this Scotsman accompanied by his donkey. These colorful figures are played with accuracy and humor by “the white hair troupe” made up of around fifteen residents of the Rives du Tarn in Albi. As a guest star, actor and musician Gerry Carter plays the role of Stevenson. The show is interspersed with songs sung by residents accompanied on guitar by Alain Gisclard.
