It was the December 4, 1974just 50 years ago at the Red Cross, in forest of Loudéac (Côtes-d’Armor). About a hundred children came here to plantereach, a tree in this place.
75,000 schoolchildren in a big Tree Game
Three months earlier, no less than 75,000 Costa Rican students from 4 to 12 years old had participated in a “tree game” and these young planters, now aged 54 to 62were the big winners.
The memory of the event, about which little is known, had been engraved on this slate plaque, little by little and fell into oblivion then eaten by vegetation.

The inscriptions having become almost illegible, the plate was restored by technical services agents. It was then reinstalled on its original site, in 2021, on the side of the road, at the Red Cross.
She says: “Trees are the symbol of our love of Naturewe are committed to protecting it and respecting everything that makes it up.”
