The drama unfolded last night in Paea after a family argument. A man died after being stabbed by his little brother.

A man in his thirties was stabbed to death by his younger brother. The drama happened last night in Paea.

According to initial reports, an argument broke out last night between the two brothers. The eldest allegedly threatened to stab his brother. The latter, panicked, then took refuge in his room, waiting for his big brother to calm down and fall asleep.

It was at that moment that he allegedly took action, stabbing her several times while she slept. “He wrote to me [qu’]he dropped off my mootua at my mother’s house I think around 1:30 a.m. and he came back to finish what he wanted to do [c’est-à-dire] stab my son [adoptif] 6 times in his sleep…I have nothing to blame him knowing the life they led here, it’s very difficult since the mother left”explain Vaitiare, adoptive mother of the victim. “We think it’s anger, hatred, apparently the neighbors said it started at night, 10 p.m., after that it calmed down. And in the morning they found out”says Lieutenant Domingo Roboam, head of the Paea firefighters.

It was the victim’s employer who discovered the horror of the scene this morning around 4 a.m.: “I saw his little brother outside and then I asked him where he was. “Uncle, call the police,” [qu’est-ce qu’il s’est passé ?] “he’s dead, yeah, I killed him” [où il est ?] “he is there”, [il était 4h30 du matin]”.
