A new solar power plant is under construction in the Gers and a company offers residentsinvest inside.

The independent French renewable energy producer CVE (for “Let's change our vision of energy”, formerly Cap Vert Solarenergie) will in fact commission a new Gers site in second quarter 2025.

With a power of 4.5 MWp, this plant located on 4.7 hectares is part of a project to revalorize a former quarry for the exploitation of limestone materials in La Romieunortheast of Condom.


The energy consumption of 3,000 people

It should make it possible to produce, in the long term, 6.06 megawatts per year, i.e. the energy consumption of nearly 3,000 people.

For residents who would like to invest, “the advantages are numerous”, assures its promoter, who highlights the “establishment of ethical and civic savings”, profitability in a “growing” sector and a “minimum ticket of 'investment of €500'. The fundraising goal is €375,000.

“The use of participatory financing promotes the territorial anchoring of projects and allows the inhabitants of Gers and neighboring departments to become actors in the energy transition and to benefit directly from its economic benefits”, estimates Jean-François Mouton, the relations director. investors at CVE.

This is not the first project in the Gers of the group, based in . CVE, which in relies on a team of 350 employees spread across eight offices, but is also established in Chile, the United States, South Africa and Spain, can count on an operating and construction fleet of nearly ofaround a hundred solar projects (ground-mounted power plants, roofs and photovoltaic shades) in Occitanie.

Just in the Gers, around ten power stations are installed, the last having been inaugurated in Auradé in June 2024.
