a roadmap to strengthen strategic relationships

Advocating unity and cooperation, Morocco and the European Union are consolidating their bilateral ties. The President of the House of Representatives of Morocco, Rachid Talbi Alami, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, announced, Tuesday in Brussels, the adoption of a common road map aimed at restoring and strengthening relations between two legislative institutions.

This initiative marks a crucial step in the relaunch of Moroccan-European cooperation, which has been undermined in recent years. At the end of their discussions, Talbi Alami declared that: “ We examined several subjects and agreed to define a working methodology to overcome the dysfunctions that have marked these relations and restore normal collaboration between our parliaments. ».

Talbi Alami’s visit to the European legislative institution, carried out at the invitation of Metsola, comes in a context of restructuring of the European Parliament following the last European elections. President Metsola expressed a clear desire to restore solid relations with Morocco, emphasizing the strategic importance of the Kingdom in the region.

To this end, Talbi Alami insisted on the need to respect the “ Moroccan conditions » to guarantee harmonious and balanced relationships. These conditions, according to him, are based on mutual respect and recognition of the fundamental interests of both parties.

Metsola, for her part, praised the achievements of Morocco, which she described as “ key partner in the European neighborhood “. It highlighted its political, economic and social stability, as well as its proactive foreign policy under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

This roadmap suggests a promising future for relations between the Moroccan and European parliaments. It reflects a common desire to overcome past differences and establish a lasting partnership in areas of shared interest.
