These are unusual panels that motorists encounter in the town center of Bosc-Mesnil, (Seine-Maritime)for a few weeks.

Julie and Lucas, two schoolchildren, bags on their backs, ask drivers to be careful on the road.

This is obviously life-size panels of children on the side of the road.

“Attention school” can be read on the first, and “Dad, mom, slow down” on the second. The first name and age of each child are also indicated.

“Make drivers slow down”

This new installation is the initiative of Mayor François Battement: “We want to make people slow down; some don't even know they are in a town and don't adapt their speed. »

Installed since mid-October, the panels have allowed the municipality to already see some improvements.

“Some motorists told us that seeing the children surprised them, but above all it helped to calm down », said the mayor.

And to clarify that these are not children from the town, but rather purchased panels.

To complete the infrastructure with a view to limiting speed in the town center, locks will soon be installed at the other entrance to the town.
