The schedule for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France, which will take place on December 20, 21 and 22, was revealed this Tuesday. All matches will be broadcast by beIN Sports, either in full or in multiplexes. It is the Lens-PSG clash which will close this Cup weekend, on Sunday December 22 at 9 p.m.
The two amateur survivors from Ile-de-France, who will face Ligue 1 clubs, will not play at the same time. Drancy (N3) will face Nantes on Saturday December 21 at 6 p.m. and FC 93 Bobigny (N2) will host Angers the next day at 5:30 p.m.
For the two 93 clubs, the problem was the approval of their stadium. On the Drancy side, we fell from a height. The FFF informed the National 3 club by email that it had to find a fallback site by this Thursday, December 5 at 4 p.m. Whatever happens, the match against Nantes will not take place at the Charles-Sage stadium.
The FFF put forward three arguments: an insufficient number of seats (800), the fact of hosting a Ligue 1 club and the security aspect. On this point, Drancy has to face Nantes where the ultras of the Loire Brigade are at war with their leadership. Last week, they were initially banned from traveling to the Parc des Princes by the police headquarters before finally being authorized after an appeal to the administrative court.
“It’s frustrating for the club and the city not to be able to welcome us to the Charles-Sage stadium,” regrets president Alain Melaye. It's a shame because the city did a lot to ensure that we had a beautiful, perfectly renovated stadium, a beautiful lawn… We wanted to celebrate in Drancy. It's the living desert in Paris in terms of infrastructure. We worked all morning to find solutions and avoid the inversion. We don't want to play in Nantes. We saw what happened with Neuilly-sur-Marne (N3) who had to travel to Valenciennes (4-3 defeat). They must have it across their throats. »
Four avenues are being studied: the Bauer stadiums in Saint-Ouen, Michel-Hidalgo in Saint-Gratien, Duvauchelle in Créteil and Charléty in Paris.
On the other hand, after showing its organizational know-how against Red Star, FC 93 Bobigny will, for its part, be able to welcome Angers at home at the Auguste-Delaune stadium. “We couldn’t dream of better, playing at home on our pitch,” underlines captain Reda Kaddouri. It's going to be a big party, even bigger than against Red Star in the 8th round. I feel immense pride that we can host an L1 at the Auguste-Delaune stadium. All volunteers will be able to come to the stadium. This proves that we can organize such a meeting. Sportingly, we will have our bearings on our field. We have more chances of achieving a result. »
