McDonald's opens today in Langlade, “a chance for employment”

The town of Langlade in Vaunage now has the right to its McDonald's. Opening this Tuesday, December 3.

“Do you realize? Around fifty long-term recruitments for a town of 2,500 inhabitants”points out Gaëtan Prevoteau, mayor of Langlade, on the sidelines of the inauguration this Monday, December 2. Not far from the Lidl store, McDonald's Langlade comes alive around a saxophonist, petit fours brighten up the guests, rosé in hand. Jean-Paul Benkemoun is now enjoying a new franchise opening, he who is already at the head of McDonald's in Kennedy Nîmes, Milhaud, Aimargues and even Lunel, among our neighbors in Hérault.

Around 50 recruitments in the long term

Why settle here? A successful agreement between the owner of the plot, the town hall and the fast food behemoth. Not to mention a strategic location meeting “a real need”. Some are already choking, wondering about the usefulness of yet another McDonald's restaurant in the Gard and the potential competition for small restaurateurs. The entrepreneur pleads the analysis of the strong demand which led to this opening. “I operate an international brand, of course, but I am a local entrepreneur, just like someone who sells pizzas and kebabs,” compare Jean-Paul Benkemoun.

An installation responding “to a request”

The town hall, for its part, is committed to maintaining clean spaces around the establishment, which according to the mayor, will lead to economic repercussions on commercial life. “An establishment like this also makes it possible to recruit young students in a complicated context”underlines the city councilor. The project for the fast food brand in Langlade was designed thirty months ago. “Four months after the serious work started, the establishment was leaving”remembers Jean-Jean-Paul Benkemoun who is only waiting for one thing: for the people of Langlade to make it their own.
