The French Davis Cup team will host Brazil in the first round of the national team competition, at the end of January or beginning of February, depending on the draw carried out on Monday in London by the International Federation (ITF).

Paul-Henri Mathieu's players will face the Brazilian selection either on January 31 and February 1, or on February 1 and 2, in a best-of-five match duel.

Two singles will take place on the first day of play, with a doubles and two more singles scheduled for the second day.

In the event of victory, will face the winner of the duel between Croatia and Slovakia.

In 2024, France beat Taiwan in the first round of the Davis Cup but was eliminated from the competition in September at the end of the group stage, failing to qualify for the final phase which was played at the end November in Malaga (Spain).

During Monday's draw, the ITF announced that the Italy of world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, double defending champion in the Davis Cup, would host the final phase of the competition until 2027 (“Final 8”, which brings together the eight best nations of the season).

The Final 8 of the 2025 edition, for which Italy is directly qualified as defending champion, will take place more precisely in Bologna.

The Netherlands, unfortunate finalists of the 2024 edition, were exempted from the first round thanks to their course and are therefore directly qualified for the second round of qualifications, scheduled for September. They will face either Norway of sixth in the world Casper Ruud, or Argentina, quarter-finalist in 2024.

Among the posters for the first round, the Spain of Carlos Alcaraz (3rd player in the world) will travel to Switzerland while the Serbia of Novak Djokovic, 24 times Grand Slam winner, will go to Denmark for its entry into the running.

Spaniards and Serbs will meet in the second round in the event of victory.
