It's been almost six months since Laure Zacchello, 43, a military nurse converted as a therapist, disappeared in the Basque Country. This mother of three children aged 5, 7 and 9 was last seen on Friday June 21, 2024 in the Urrugne sector where she resided with her husband. Since then, she has not been found. Alexis Juret, from whom she was in the process of separating, was indicted for intentional homicide of a spouseand placed in pre-trial detention at the Mont-de-Marsan penitentiary center. After thehearing of the suspect by the investigating judgeon November 13, the 13 civil parties were heard by the same magistrates on Wednesday, November 27 at the Bayonne courthouse.
Make the missing person's computer and cell phone talk
Since the start of the investigation, the police have been faced with a material difficulty: how to open computer and cell phone by Laure Zacchello? “A difficulty which is due to the fact that Laure Zacchello lived in fear of her husband, the fear that he would access elements which were personal to him, she therefore took certain precautions which today pose a problem for us”, explains Me Thierry Sagardoytho, the lawyer for one of the cousins of the deceased.
The careful study of images from video surveillance cameras is also continuing, in an attempt to locate the vehicle(s) which could have transported the body of Laure Zacchello with whom Alexis Juret had been in divorce proceedings for several months.
The trail of the two witnesses who claimed to have seen the missing woman dismissed
Investigators from the Bayonne judicial police closed the trail according to which two witnesses claimed to have seen Laure Zacchello after her disappearance. Two hypotheses which yielded nothing. “Both people were simply wrong and it was a lead that went crazy,” explains Me Thierry Sagardoytho. Since the start of the case, Alexis juror has denied the facts for which he was placed in preventive detention. No new request for release has been made at this time.
