The public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc held a press conference this Monday, December 2, a week after the disappearance in Côtes-d'Armor of young Morgane, 13 years old.
A week after her disappearance, Morgane is still nowhere to be found. This Monday, December 2, Nicolas Heitz, the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, held a press conference to provide information on the investigation and research carried out by the police. The young girl was last seen at 7:45 a.m. Monday, November 25, leaving her family home to go to her college, where she never arrived.
Among the new components of the investigation are a “crumpled paper” found in the basket of the 13-year-old girl by the gendarmes. It says “Dad, Mom, sorry I’m leaving”.
“Scarifications” mentioned by comrades
The public prosecutor clarified that the young girl has “never run away in the past”, nor “expressed suicidal intention”. Investigators have heard several times from Morgane's parents who describe a “harmonious relationship with their eldest daughter”, describing their family life as “normal” or “classic”.
Around a hundred witness interviews have been carried out over the last seven days. This made it possible to paint a portrait of Morgane, described as “kind, discreet, reserved, even shy” by her friends and comrades:
“It appeared that Morgane may have made worrying comments and could experience real discomfort.”
To investigators, some of her comrades spoke of “scarifications” that she “inflicted on herself”. Furthermore, the teenager “had told a tennis teacher that she had been the victim of harassment last year,” continued the magistrate.
Disappearance of Morgane, concern in her village in Côtes-d'Armor
In the context of this “disturbing” disappearance, a judicial investigation will soon be opened. In addition, two men were questioned by the police. One lives in Drôme and was identified as the creator of a Snapchat account for the 13-year-old girl.
“The search of his cell phone made it possible to find several images of child pornography that did not concern Morgane,” specifies Nicolas Heitz.
A second man, aged 29, was also questioned by the police. He met Morgane on social networks but nothing came of his hearing.
