Béatrice Duguépéroux-Honoré, who served her three municipal mandates in Lourmais (Ille-et-Vilaine), chose the hemicycle of romantic , in La Chapelle-aux-Filtzméens, to receive her honorary mayor's medal on Friday November 29 2024. It is true that there were many guests for the occasion, including some of his colleagues at the Departmental Council.

It was his mentor, André Lefeuvre, long-time general councilor and first president of the Romantic Brittany community of communes, who opened the evening. I thought I would no longer speak here, but I was asked to welcome you for this medal presentation to Béatrice Duguépéroux-Honoré. He slipped a few words on the hemicycle, place of much warmer contacts, of debates .

Succeeding him at the microphone, Philippe Brugnot, sub-prefect of Saint-Malo, recalled the rule: be elected in a municipality for at least 18 years, with a mandate as mayor. That doesn't stop you from becoming mayor again.

He then retraced the journey of the recipient, Béatrice Duguépéroux-Honoré, elected for the first time in Lourmais, in 2001. She served two terms as municipal councilor before being elected mayor in 2014, when she succeeded Abel Erondel in the seat of first councilor.

In 2015, André Lefeuvre chose her as a partner for the new cantonal elections: she was elected and will be elected again in 2021, alongside Benoît Sohier this time.

Philippe Brugnot also spoke about her journey as a cycling champion since she was French elected champion in 2018 and champion of Brittany three times.

“Head in the handlebars”

Béatrice Duguépéroux-Honoré had a thought for some of her former colleagues who passed away today: François André, Rémi , Jean-Christophe Bénis and Jeanine Feudé. She greeted Abel Erondel who put me into orbit then said a little word for his family, quoting a word from his daughter Clara: Mom, you take care of everyone except us .

And to add: When you're mayor, your head is in control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Béatrice Duguépéroux-Honoré listed her achievements in Lourmais, the wonderful encounters before continuing: As mayor, you must be generous and not count your time. I loved this feature, even if I wasn't given a gift. She concluded by thanking her political family, the radicals, and André Lefeuvre: He's the one who taught me everything .
