Around twenty elected officials from southern Morbihan were trained in the peaceful management of acts of incivility by a police negotiator from the gendarmerie. Thursday November 28, 2024, for two hours, at the Marzan media library, he explained to them how to defuse a crisis situation. For the commander of the Vannes company Fabien Dutartre, this training is essential to deal with the increasing incivility and violence towards elected officials.
What does this training called “peaceful management of gestures of incivility” consist of?
It aims to train and raise awareness among elected officials on how they can best delay and deal with incivility. The goal is for them to have the right reaction to someone who loses their temper in order to avoid violence.

This training was initially intended for small groups. Why offer it in a large format, with around twenty people?
This training has actually been offered for several years in the Vannes company. The idea is to allow elected officials to meet and share their experience. There have been six in this format and this is the seventh.
Is the objective to train all elected officials in the region?
We propose, we do not impose. It is intended for those who wish it. This may also be of interest to service directors. Being aware and informed allows elected officials to be better prepared for outbursts of anger. Between 100 and 150 Morbihan elected officials participated in this training.
