The tenant of Matignon thus opened the door to the vote on a motion of censure. By Wednesday, MPs will have to say whether or not the Barnier government will pass the three-month mark or not. And it all comes down to the attitude of the far right, which raises the stakes.
In front of the deputies, Michel Barnier, who heads a minority government, defended his “method” based on “dialogue”, sparking criticism from the opposition in the National Assembly. France is in “a moment of truth which confronts everyone with their responsibilities”, he declared before leaving the hemicycle.
