Ardèche: the N102 cut in both directions after a landslide

A landslide took place without causing any injuries on the RN102 at the Pont-de-Labeaume exit towards Lalevade d'Ardèche this Sunday evening. According to the prefecture, the road, partially damaged over 50 meters is closed in both directions. An order prohibiting the circulation of all vehicles has been put in place. Yves Veyrenc, mayor of Pont-de-Labeaume testifies on Bleu Drôme Ardèche: “the landslide occurred between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. A big landslide 1000 m3, which is six meters wide and 4 meters high. The parapet was broken over 30 meters, it sank into the river”. At 9 a.m. this Monday morning, the services of the Massif Central DIR (roads department) had not started to clear the rock and trees which cut national road 102. According to Yves Veyrenc, “The work will take at least a day, but it could be longer“. It is indeed impossible to know at this stage whether the roadway has suffered.

The Ardèche prefecture recommends avoiding the area

Diversions are in place:
– direction Aubenas – Le Puy en Velay: on the RN102 between the Lalevade roundabout (intersection with the RD19 commune of Prades) and the place called Romégier (commune of Pont de Labeaume),
– direction Le Puy-en Velay – Aubenas: on the RN102 between the RD5 crossroads (commune of Pont de Labeaume) and the place called Romégier.

Around 1000 m3 of rocks fell onto the road according to the mayor of Pont-de-labeaume
