Traditionally, the AMBA (Mycological and Botanical Association of Aveyron) brings together some of its motivated members for a closing session of the past season. This year, this friendly and traditional meeting took place in Flavin, in a room of the “Le Planol” restaurant.
The morning meeting was an opportunity to recall, through several slideshows, some events in which AMBA was associated or involved.
First of all, Christian Bernardbotanist, proposed an illustrated montage on the events which marked, in this year 2024, the commemoration of the centenary of the disappearance of Canon Hippolyte Coste, illustrious Aveyron botanist.
First of all, we recall the arrival of the Botanical Society of France for a field session on the Causses, from May 19 to 22, with an essential pilgrimage to Saint-Paul-des-Fonts and visit to the Espace Coste, labeled “Houses of the Illustrious”; then, the various events held in Saint-Paul on June 15 and 16: communications, musical strolls in the streets of the village, exhibition of photos and ancient flora; finally the arrival of the Society of Letters of Rodez for its fun day, September 8.
Jean-Louis Lessmycologist, then presented a rich panorama of the mushrooms that exist in our regions and the particular attention that we must pay to their rigorous identification and the risks, even the dangerousness, of some for our consumption.
This morning continued and ended at the restaurant around a friendly meal, rich in discussions and projects for 2025.
