Work to transform the northern entrance to Valenciennes, started a year ago by Valenciennes Métropole, continues to progress.
From next January, we should be able to regain use of the motorway ramps allowing us to go towards Lille, and to reach Valenciennes from the Lille metropolis. In any case, this is what the mayor of Valenciennes Laurent Degallaix, also president of Agglo, confirmed this Tuesday, November 26 during the Valenciennes municipal council. Still on the works side, the paving of Avenue Lomprez should be completed by the end of this year, “on the housing side”. Similar paving work will then be undertaken on the “prison side”.
A first magnolia was planted in Valenciennes
Ultimately, the northern entrance to Valenciennes will also accommodate no less than “700 trees“: magnolias, pines, ash trees, and even oaks. The premises will also accommodate 66,000 perennials, 14,000 shrubs and the equivalent of 2.4 hectares of grassy areas.
