A new earthquake in the art world. Three men filed a complaint for rape, attempted rape and sexual assault last March against photographer Bernard Faucon, known for his images of naked young boys. The facts allegedly took place in the 1980s in the photographer's family home in Saint-Martien in Vaucluse, reveals the World.
The Apt gendarmes opened an investigation at the beginning of the year. When questioned, Bernard Faucon's lawyer told the newspaper that the photographer would give his explanations to the courts. At the time of the events, the victims were 16, 11 and 15 years old respectively.
Two victims testify openly, Ferjeux Van der Stigghel and Jean-Phillipe Cécile. The third, which has not yet been heard by the police, had already sounded the alert in 2006 and 2008, notably via blog comments devoted to the work of Bernard Faucon and contacts with associations providing aid to victims.
A complaint for sexual assault was also filed by one of them against the cinematographer Jean-Claude Larrieu, friend of Bernard Faucon and against Christian Cajolle, founder of the VU agency and former photo director of Liberation.
