A forced blockade on the RN 165

A pregnant woman lost her life in an accident on national road 165 near Brech on Sunday November 10, 2024.

Following this accident involving three vehicles, an investigation was opened to clarify the circumstances of this accident. Prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter, but also for involuntary injuries with incapacity not exceeding three months, the accused is “positive for alcohol”, according to the Lorient public prosecutor's office. Additionally, the man did not have a driving license.

The next day, November 11, a gendarmerie roadblock was set up to examine the accident site. A man forced the blockade. A traffic policeman was injured leg after being dragged 50 meters.

Speeding and drunk, he flees the accident

A fatal accident occurred on Sunday November 17, 2024 on the Lorient penetrant. A 23-year-old pilot is behind it. Without knowing it, he hit his former teacher at Colbert high school.

Drunk, he drove at around 150 km/h according to the police on a road limited to 70 km/h. His Mercedes hit a vehicle. One man lost his life (his former teacher) and another was seriously injured.

Hit and run after collision with a motorcyclist

Saturday November 30, 2024, around 1:30 p.m., a road accident occurred on departmental 183 in Surzur. A biker is on the ground. The firefighters initially indicated that it was a fall by the biker. But quickly, the gendarmerie estimated that there was a third person. In addition, witnesses reportedly saw a car at the scene.

In the morning, the gendarmerie seized a 27-year-old man, suspected of having hit the motorcyclist. He was taken into custody.

The motorcyclist unfortunately died.

With this latest fatal accident, it is the 43rd death in 2024 on the roads of Morbihan. The prefecture announced the multiplication of controls:
