Five months after the convening of early legislative elections, it is the turn of the vice-president of the National Rally to wish for the departure of the French president, while the threat of a motion of censure hangs over the Barnier government.
Little by little, the idea of Emmanuel Macron's resignation is making headway among the political class. This time, it is Sébastien Chenu's turn to consider this hypothesis. In the event of a country blockade, “Emmanuel Macron would be doing the country a service by leaving his position as President of the Republic and would allow us to redraw a political line for the benefit of France”declared the vice-president of the RN on the LCI set.
While the budget projects will be returned to the National Assembly in December, Michel Barnier is more than ever threatened with being overthrown by a coalition of oppositions. In order to pass the Social Security finance bill (PLFSS) the Prime Minister could activate 49.3 from Monday December 2.
“Several red lines have been crossed”
However, the RN suggests that it could vote on the motion of censure that would follow. “This budget does not stand up”warned Sébastien Chenu, who indicates that “several red lines have been crossed”. They concern “reimbursement of drug prices”, “the reduction in charge reductions”, “retirement deindexations”, “new taxes on sugar or bottled water”.
The party with the flame should meet to discuss in more detail the content of the PLFSS, indicated Sébastien Chenu, who however remains skeptical. “The PLFSS and this finance bill will damage our country’s public finances”. In the event of rejection of the text of the motion of censure, the government “would resign and manage current affairs”anticipates the MP, who recognizes however that the situation could not last ad vitam aeternam.
To resolve it, he suggests “change political line”regretting that Michel Barnier did not “nothing negotiated with the RN”. The deputy, however, opened a door ajar. “The Prime Minister can choose to make gestures, to amend this text, and somewhere to backtrack, or to hear what we say”.
