Arcom will have a new president in 2025. This Thursday, November 28, the Élysée announced the appointment of Martin Ajdari, senior civil servant specializing in the media and current director general of the Paris Opera, at the head of the Authority of regulation of audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom). The latter should take over from Roch-Olivier Maistre, whose mandate ends on February 2, 2025. The name of Martin Ajdari must now be validated by the National Assembly and the Senate.
Deputy Director General of the Paris Opera
Having left the ENA in 1995, the senior civil servant has a well-filled CV. The 55-year-old man was notably the deputy general director of Radio France under the presidency of Jean-Paul Cluzel between 2004 and 2009, before officially being a candidate for the presidency of the public group in 2014. But it is ultimately Mathieu Gallet who had been chosen for the position. A fine connoisseur of public broadcasting, he was also deputy general manager for resources and general secretary of France Télévisions between 2010 and 2014.

In 2015, he was appointed head of the General Directorate of Media and Cultural Industries (DGMIC) within the Ministry of Culture and Communication. He remained there until 2020, the year in which he was appointed deputy general director of the Paris Opera, where he managed all of the establishment's operational functions (administrative and financial, commercial, etc.). He was also responsible for implementing the institution's strategic plan.
