The loot appears paltry compared to the psychological shock for the victims. Tuesday, November 26, a retired couple aged 78 and 80 received a visit to their home from three robbers with masked faces, one of whom was holding a handgun, in a house in the Naudières district in Rezé, south of Nantes.
A stolen engagement ring
This homejacking occurred shortly after 8 p.m. The perpetrators were equipped with hoods, masks and gloves. “The gentleman tried to resist”confides a police source. He was pushed by the suspects before finally giving in under threat. The three thieves took away jewelry and some valuables, including the victim's engagement ring.
The local judicial police service (SLPJ) of Nantes has opened an investigation. This is the second homejacking in less than a week in the outskirts of Nantes. On the night of November 20 to 21, it was in the small town of Saint-Léger-les-Vignes that residents were threatened, a violent theft which caused great excitement and for which the gendarmerie opened an investigation .
