Agricultural anger continues to be heard in Occitanie, this Wednesday November 27, 2024. As elsewhere in the region, gatherings are taking place in Ariège, on the RN 20, a busy road towards theAndorra.

Two agricultural events were declared to the prefecture by the departmental federation of farmers' unions and young farmers.

A filter barrier on the RN20 from 10:00 a.m.

The first concerns the RN20 where a filter barrier is set up at the Sabart roundabout in Tarascon-sur-Ariègefrom 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Farmers will distribute tracts and local products. The prefecture recommends two routes to avoid disruptions:

  • In the direction Tarascon-sur-Ariège/Sinsat on the RN 20: RD 618, RD123 then exit on RN20 via the Ussat bridge (one way).
  • In the Sinsat/Tarascon-sur-Ariège direction on the RN 20: exit from the RN20 via the Ornolac bridge (one way) then RD123 to Tarascon, RD123a, RD618y, RD618.

HGVs will not be able to travel on this route and will have to take the diversion set up via Mirepoix.

Another filtering dam in the evening

In the evening, 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.another filter barrier for heavy goods vehicles will be installed at the level of the Prat-Bonrepaux roundabout. A convoy of tractors will join the area from 8:00 p.m., from the Montjoie-en-Couserans roundabout.

“Significant difficulties in both directions of traffic are expected on both sites,” warns the prefecture. The gendarmerie will be present on these routes to ensure the safety of demonstrators and road users.

“It is strongly recommended that all road users anticipate or postpone their trips, exercise caution and limit their speed around the sites concerned,” concludes the Prefect.
