Simplification of transport prices in Île-de-

An evolution, nay, a revolution! This is what awaits us in terms of pricing from next January.

I told you about it a few weeks ago in this article, Valérie Pécresse, President of the Île-de- Mobilités Council, announced on September 18 a evolution of public transport pricing in Île-de-France.

From January 2, 2025, a new version of the fare range for transport tickets in Île-de-France will therefore be launched at the request of Île-de-France Mobilités. The changes will mainly benefit occasional travelers (around 3 million per day) buses, trains and RER which will pay less for their daily journeys.

On the other hand, no upgrade for frequent customersthe Navigo monthly and weekly packages for all zones or for pairs of zones keep the current operation.

This new range aims:

  • The social and territorial cohesionby offering a single price for all Ile-de-France residents, wherever they are
  • And ecological objective by promoting the use of public transport to reduce the number of vehicles on the road
  • The simplificationwith a single fare that puts an end to combinations depending on the departure and arrival station, as well as complex fares.

This change is part of the continuity of the program of “ modernization of ticketing » initiated since 2016, having already given rise to the rezoning of the Navigo pass, the dematerialization of transport tickets and their arrival on smartphones and connected watches, the capping of origin-destination tickets, or the implementation of the Navigo Liberté + service , which allows post-payment according to consumption.

You will find details of all the pricing changes which will come into force from January 2, 2025 on this page of the Île-de-France Mobilités website.
