For a second consecutive year, Carolane Dumas’ team of employees from Aluminerie de Bécancour Inc. offered their time to a local organization. This year, a group of eight volunteers participated in the ACTION Program for the benefit of Entraide Bécancour on June 15.
The activity took place in the company of the members of the organization, namely Serge Champagne, president of the board of directors, Nathalie Pépin, general director, Diane Choquette, psychosocial worker, as well as Ginette Mercier and Jeannine Pellerin, volunteers.
The few hours of volunteering in the morning allowed for a good cleaning of the premises, freeing up enough space to collect more donations from the population. The ACTION Program made it possible to give $3,000 to the organization, an amount that will be used to relocate certain services.
Entraide Bécancour is a community organization whose mission is to improve the living conditions of individuals in the City of Bécancour by meeting their material, social and collective needs, through community solidarity and sustainable development. Among the many services offered to meet the changing needs of the community are food distribution, collective kitchens, the thrift store and the home accessories department, the soup kitchen and the coffee chat, the tax assistance service for individuals with modest incomes as well as psychosocial support for individuals using all services and activities.
